Combating Fungi Infections
What do you do with persistent fungal infections?
First and primarily, stop feeding the fungal infection by avoiding all the fungal foods and drinks.
IF YOU ARE PRONE TO SPORES OR FUNGAL CONDITIONS
AVOID:
- Any spoiled food - fermented, aged or smoked food.
- Cheese of any kind, including cottage cheese and cream cheese.
- Sour cream, sour milk and buttermilk. Three or four day old milk.
- Beer and wine.
- Vinegar and foods containing vinegar such as mayonnaise and other salad dressings, tomato sauce, chilli sauce, pickles, pickled beets, relishes and green olives. Apple Cider can act differently but check with your practitioner first.
- Pickled and smoked meat and fish including delicatessen foods, especially frankfurts, corned beef and pickled tongue.
- Breads made with yeast, coffee cakes and other foods made with large amounts of yeast, especially Vegemite. Note: Warrandyte Wood Oven Bakery sells a yeast free bread. Soda breads are yeast free breads.
- Sauerkraut. Kim Chi.
- Cider and homemade root beer.
- Mushrooms and fungi.
- Sugar and honey.
- Citrus fruit - oranges, lemons, mandarins, grapefruit,
- Pineapple
- Apple and canteloupe/rockmelon.
- All dried fruit such as apricots, dates, prunes, figs and raisins. breads and puddings with dried fruit
- Canned tomatoes, tomato paste, ketchup, pizza, spaghetti, etc.
- Canned juice, especially apple and tomato. Avoid all canned foods.
- Buy fresh meat daily if possible or freeze meat as soon as it is brought home. Freezing retards the growth of moulds. Avoid food made from leftovers. Hamburgers produce mould very rapidly, so use only if made from freshly ground meat.
- Antibiotics and the contraceptive pill.
- Kombucha and Kefir
Take action from every direction to get results
- Clean your environment of mould. Clean your shower recess weekly with neem oil and or eucalyptus
- Clean your sheets and pillow case with hot water, neem oil and/or eucalyptus oil
- Throw out all nail polish used on fungal feet/nails.
- Avoid public showers/ pools without thongs on.
- Wash all socks with eucalyptus wash and a bit of neem oil. Every week wash all used socks together so fresh for the following week.
- Spray all shoes with anti fungal spray like Lamisil spray or a eucalyptus spray after every use.
- If in doubt throw out contaminated shoes and socks if old.
- If fungi is in nails talk to your practitioner on the best cream, lotion, substance to apply to the nail.
- You need to be diligent and work on this every day to get results.
- When cutting nails - clippers need to be cleaned after every time properly and with boiling water. Do not share clippers in the family.
- If really bad infection spend the money on hot and cold laser treatment on affected nails. Talk to your practitioner to get referrals for this.
- Talk to your practitioner about treating the infection internally with herbs and/or probiotics to create the right microbiome in the gut.
