This is a great snack and a treat in our family, especially around Christmas, social events and birthdays. The warning is that it is consumed very fast and is really popular. The only thing I would say is the healthiest way to eat nuts is raw, unsalted and organic. Nuts in fact are best kept in the fridge especially in summer as the oils in them once heated can become rancid so heating your nuts like this with the spices, even through healthier than some party food, need to still be respectfully kept as a treat.
30g of cold pressed olive oil
30g maple syrup
1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
1 garlic clove
2 teaspoons of sea salt
1/2 teaspoon of chilli flakes
1/4 teaspoon of ground pepper
500grms of nuts/seeds ( I used walnuts, pepitas, almonds, brazil nuts and pecans)
1. Preheat oven to 180degrees and line baking tray with green baking paper
2.Place oil, syrup, paprika, garlic, salt, chilly flakes and pepper in a saucepan and stir for one minute on low heat.
3. Add the nuts and stir for one and half minutes. Then lay on the baking paper and cook in the oven for 10minutes.
